Hidden Brook Farm-Raised Fillies Shine on Rich Canterbury Turf Fest Card

A pair of runners raised by Hidden Brook Farm factored prominently on the July 15 Canterbury Turf Festival card at Canterbury Park. The card featured a quintet of blacktype raced valued at $350,000.

Ask Bailey (pictured) won the one mile on the turf $50,000 Northbound Pride Oaks, charging from last to first and drawing away to win by 4 1/4 lengths under Francisco Arrieta for trainer Michael Maker. The betting favorite returned $4.60. 

The daughter of Run Away and Hide was raised at bucolic Hidden Brook Farm in Paris, Kentucky before being sold as part of the Hidden Brook consignment at the 2018 Keeneland September auction. Her $100,000 purchase price was by far the highest for her sire that year

Ask Bailey was bred Joseph and Mark Alexander and races in the colors of WSS Racing LLC and Hooties Racing LLC. She is trained by Mark Maker and now has $184,114 in the bank,

Another Hidden Brook Farm-raised filly also earned blacktype on the card. The Paddy O'Prado mare Aife finished 3rd, beaten less than a length for the victory in the $75,000 Lady Canterbury Stakes. The 5-year-old was bred by Donegals Paddy Breeding Partnership and has earned $262,297 for owners Ten Strike Racing and Todd Monken
