Sporting the distinctive gold square on the front and back of Luis Saez’s silks, first time starter Amor Fati sprinted to the lead from her rail post and never relinquished it en route to becoming a ‘TDN Rising Star’ at Gulfstream Park.

The $375,000 Keeneland September grad from the Hidden Brook consignment posted a number of sharp works for trainer Brittany Russell over the past two months at her Palm Meadows base.

Debuting as the 2-1 favorite here, the gray set a strong pace up front with a quarter-mile of :21.43. The 3-year-old continued to hold sway around the far turn before opening up down the lane to win by 5 1/2 lengths over Tinki Abarrio.

The winner was also co-bred by Hidden Brook Farm and was foaled and raised at the bucolic Hidden Brook nursery in Paris, Kentucky. She is a half-sister to Accretive, a multiple Graded Stakes-placed earner of $323,393. Their dam, Mallory Street, was purchased during the 2020 Keeneland November Sale by Hidden Brook for $100,000 carrying Amor Fati.
